The staff of the Department consists of graduates in physiotherapy, who work under the guidance of a physician. According to standardized processes of rehabilitation therapy, they provide pre- and postoperative care at departments of surgery.

At all departments of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, they provide complex rehabilitation care aimed at prevention of secondary complications, gradual management of upright positioning of the patients.

Members of the Department assess the patient's locomotive during convalescence, when the patient is discharged from hospital.

The staff is involved in the evaluation and guidance of the nursing and auxiliary personnel responsible for nursing rehabilitation care.

The premises of the Department are available for individual and group kinesitherapy and complex physical therapy for patients with concurrent vertebrogenic and myogenic conditions.

The Department is involved in the training and education of physiotherapists specializing in rehabilitation of patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system.
